Flight Officer Patrick Martin Is a Hapan currently serving as a Naval fighter pilot in the Imperial Navy. As well as naval duties his is also a member of the Imperial Gaming Commission and the Chairman of the Union Cup.

Biography

Parents background

His father, Patrick Martin Snr., had served in the Old Republic Navy as a fighter pilot during the Clone Wars before joining the Royal Hapan Navy and his mother, Kristina Farrin, served on a passenger transport within the Hapes Cluster. Both of his parents were Hapan. They met when Patrick Snr.'s squadron was assigned to escort Kristina's transport. His father retired from the navy before becoming an officer. And after getting married his parents setup their own transport business.

Early Life

Patrick was born in the city of Haporium on the planet Hapes. He was born in the Year -13 to father Patrick Snr. and mother Kristina. Patrick was their first child. It wasn't until four years later, year -9 that his sister Nico was born.

As a child he was very unruly, he caused his parents alot of headaches. Patrick was a good student, apart from his tendency to distract other children with stories of his fathers Old Republic adventures. He was a shy child and found it hard to make friends, especially with the opposite sex. His bestfriend was Mark Coyle, they met when they were 7 years old. Patrick had flying in his blood and loved to play onboard his parents' ships when not in school. And by his early teens his skills as a pilot were quite impressive. Patrick and his bestfriend Mark Coyle were often caught "borrowing" a pair of his father's fighter esorts.

Teens Years

While his piloting skills were impressive and it was in his family Patrick didn't have becoming a pilot at the top of his career aspirations. He also enjoyed the administrative and business side of the company. His parents' transport buisness dealt in high value goods, expensive equipment, passengers in need of security. They used three Bayonet Class Cruisers and three squadrons of Y-Wings as well as a few small shuttles. His plans were to go on to study business, probably accounting, get a job in the Government as an Auditor or something similar and then when his father got old and retired he would take over the family business.

Things don't always go the way they are planned. Shortly after his 20th birthday his father took on their companies most high profile and most dangerous job to date.

Imperial Service

Patrick Martin has been in the service of the Empire for one year and four months. Joined Empire on day 81 in the year 8. There weren't many Hapans in the Academy during this time. Patrick became a student of Professor Valoran and it wasn't long he began to feel at home around his fellow recruits. Imperial service life suited him well. Patrick graduated from the Academy just short of the honours list with a final score of 93%. This disappointed him but he was never the less proud of his score.

Naval Service

He entered service with the Navy and his first assignment was to the 1st Imperial Fleet under the then Commander Axe Vulcan. It wasn't long before he saw action. The 1st Fleet took part in the campaign to defend the Darpa sector from a rebel assault. The 1st Fleet was successful. Seeing fellow pilots die in combat woke the young pilot up, his green days were over. He was promoted twice in quick succession first to Crewman FC and then to Flight Corporal. He also received a commendation along with the rest of 1st Fleet for their efforts in defending Darpa.

Before he was six months in active service he was promoted again, this time to Flight Sergeant. Shortly after he was presented with a "Letter of Commendation" by now Captain Axe Vulcan. Receiving his six month duty bars would be the last thing he would get while with the 1st. Soon after this the Imperial Navy restructured and new fleets were formed. As a result Patrick was given a new assignment.

As this assignment is his current fleet, information on it is classified. However Patrick has continued to excel in his role as a Fighter Pilot and has had some taste of command, receiving a commendation for his proficient command of a fighter wing. He has since had five promotions and is currently a Flight Officer.

Sports Initiatives

On Year 9 Day 113, the Imperial Ministry of Operations announced the creation of the Imperial Gaming Commission. Deputy Minister and Sith Lord Kiger Wulf was announced as the Director with Major Bacara Kex working as the Deputy Director. Patrick joined the Imperial Gaming Commission and soon began work on various different Bolo-Ball projects. The first was a small Imperial member only league. This had relatively good success.

But his main contribution to the Empire through sports was the organising and founding of the Union Cup. This is a massive annual sports tournament in which the Empire's biggest allies plus one guest Government take part in a number of bolo-ball matches over the course of a year.

Financial Support

Using his own personal wealth Patrick has been in a good position to help the Empire expand. When the Imperial Outer Rim Authority was expanding into the Elrood sector Patrick raised a large credit fund to help pay for the construction of cities across the planet Dega. This investment was paid back to Patrick along with a profit. On day 124 of year 9 to honour his support for the expansion and stabilizing of this sector a statue of Patrick Martin was unveiled in the city of Dega along with others to those that also helped.

Private Ambitions

With his ever growing wealth Patrick has set about increasing his personal power and influence.

Personal Fleet

Patrick has begun to build his own private fleet having already sold the one he inherited. He has so far only had the time to acquire two fighters, one Alpha-3 Nimbus and one Arc-170, bought of which types his father had flown during his time in the Old Republic. These are his prize posessions.
