The galactic sector of Darpa, controlled by the Galactic Empire, is a component sector of the Coruscant Oversector, which is part of the Emerald Region. Prior to the reorganisation of Imperial territory into three regions, the Imperial Sector of Darpa was a component of Regional Government ruled directly by a Moff; during that time, it contained multiple other galactic sectors, including the Barma Sector which contained the system of Carida, the Headquarters for the Imperial Army.

Prior to its reformation, the Imperial Sector of Darpa was a hub for Imperial business. It contained three well-known systems: the <b>Bhargebba system</b>, then known as Esseles, which now administratively belongs to the Corporate Oversector. It also contained the <b>Humbarine</b> system, which was then known as Rhinnal, as well as <b>Carida</b>, both of which now fall under the Kuat Oversector.

About
Located in the Core Worlds, the Darpa Sector has long been a hub for Imperial business since its foundation and is home to one of the most instrumental military instillation within the known galaxy. The Sector's three well-known systems, Rhinnal, Carida and Esseles, have all become intergalactically known during the past decade as Imperial operations staged within the systems became public.

Formerly the home of the Essellian Empire, the Sector has played a key role throughout galactic history. When the Old Republic was dissolved and the Galactic Empire formed, the Darpa Sector helped stabilizing the transition into the Galactic Empire as well as providing ever-steady loyalty and protection to the growing Imperial war machine. The Carida system was once considered the "Throne" of the Empire following several Army Commanding Officers ascending to the Imperial Throne following successful control of the Army Base.

The Army Headquarters of Carida is home to one of the Galaxy's most intense and elite training compounds, with Imperial Stormtroopers receiving their training on the planet. Additionally, due to its close proximity to Imperial Centre and its position on the Perlemian Trade Route, Darpa is home to a permenant Imperial Legion and Fleet, providing the Sector Moff with ample means to defend the key Imperial assets nearby.

When the Galactic Republic was reformed into the Galactic Empire, the Darpa sector helped stabilise the transition into the Galactic Empire, providing fastidious loyalty and protection to the growing Imperial war machine. The Carida system was once considered the "Throne" of the Empire following several Army Commanding Officers ascending to the Imperial Throne following successful control of the Army Base. Prior to the reorganisation of Imperial Regional Government to the current incarnation of Regions with their component Oversectors, the Darpa Sector was overseen by its own Moff - Ben Camden. Moff Camden was instrumental in the organisation of the Darpa Revitalisation Plan, spurring major expansion of the sector's infrastructure. The sector also saw the return of the rebel planet Basho to the Imperial fold, and Moff Camden's reign was hailed as an overall success.

Currently led by Moff Ben Camden, the Sector recently regained complete control of all systems with the Darpa Sector and his release of the Darpa Revitalization Plan; the Darpa Sector is currently undergoing major expansion. With construction works already undergoing following the successfully conquest of the rebel planet Basho, it is expected that the small Core World Sector will continue with its recent successes and bring forth a new era in the Sector's history.
+
Prior to its restructuring, the Darpa Sector contained three sub-sectors within its borders. The nature, size and territory of these sub-sectors fluctuated as requirements changed, much like contemporary sub-sector units do now. These sub-sectors had no inherent jurisdiction and only possessed powers delegated to them by the Sector Government. This typically included a wide range of administrative power over many public services such as healthcare, education, welfare, and development within their territory. Their financial dependence from the wider sector government acted as the primary way for the centralised government to exercise its influence within the sub-sectors.

Prior to Year 0, the Sector suffered a damaging blow as the Rebel Alliance swayed the planetary governors of the then Rhinnal system into their traitorous fold. The small system, used primarily by mining companies and research corporations under license from the Galactic Empire, had to adjust to this change in its political makeup. Eventually, with the capture of Basho, Imperial support increased throughout the sector following the Rebel Alliance's abandonment of its "citizens" in the Rhinnal system. After its capture, the Rhinnal system was closed off and heavily patrolled for several years as  intensive operations to weed out the remnant terrorist cells were underway. To this day, the capture of Basho is hailed as one of the most striking triumphs of the New Order over the chaos propagated by the rebellion which opposes its legitimate rule over the galaxy.

Command
+
Following the merger with the New Imperial Order, the Imperial Sector experienced dramatic changes to its race demographics, with alien minorities surging due to immigration for the better living standards and work opportunities provided by the Empire. Previously under-developed planets were expediently built up by the Sector Government to provide better housing and infrastructure for the rapidly increasing population. The appropriate division of the population, so as to ensure viable population densities on each planet in the sector, was a critical factor in the urban planning of Darpa.

In recent years, prior to Year 0, the Sector suffered a damaging blow as the Rebel Alliance swayed the planetary governors of the Rhinnal system to follow the traitorous "cause". The small system, used primarily by mining companies and research corporations under license from the Galactic Empire, adjusted the once-fully Imperial Sector. However, with the capture of Basho, Imperial support is rising throughout the Sector following the Rebel Alliance's abandonment of its "citizens" in the Rhinnal system.

Following the recent merger with the New Imperial Order, the updating of residence policies and the dissolving of the Alien Restriction Act, the Imperial Sector has experienced dramatic changes to its race demographics. Despite the current ratio of Humans:Aliens currently at 250:1, it is expected that the figure will dramatically drop as the Sector continues developing. Furthermore, due to Darpa's proximity to unstable and warring Sectors such as the Hallu and Sumitra Sectors, there has been a surge in immigration and asylum claims as citizens flood to the Darpa Sector.

This has created a 14.65% population change since the Year 9 Census, with only 3.63% coming from natural growth. The resulting figure has caused previously under-developed planets, such as Lenniera and Nopces Prime to be presented to the Sector Government as planets for extended development in the upcoming year. Additionally, the Sector Government was required to divide the incoming population equally through it's Sub-Sectors to prevent an over-crowding.

In the past, the majority of the Sector lived within 0.4 Parsecs of each other. This population crowding, unsurprising in the Carida System, has since been adjusted and the majority of the population living within 0.63 Parsecs of each other. Researches from the Regional Analysis and Improvements Department expect the population to be crowded for a short period before dramatically decreasing as construction works are completed.

The largest race group within the Darpa Sector currently is Coruscant (23.48%), followed by Human (17.91%) and Kuati (11.18%). Aliens races are increasing, with Neimoidians up by 2.53% and Verpine up by 1.63%. Further alien increases are expected, in particular Wookies as construction crews look for the strong employers to work in the industry fields.

Customs and Traditions
With the majority of its population from the Core Worlds, the Darpa Sector's traditions have came mainly from the Essellian Empire and updated to fit with its rulers. Due to the military significance of the Sector, many customs and traditions are military-oriented. One ancient custom, now only rarely seen on Ralltiir, requires newly-wed couples to consummate their marriage on the hills of Lamia, where an ancient mystical power will ensure happiness throughout the couple's lives. It is thought that this custom originated from a legend that a woman with the ability to alter emotions lived on the hills and would ensure a successful marriage if true love could be shown to her.

With the majority of its population originating from the Core Worlds, the traditions on Darpa have had to adjust to the cosmopolitan standards of the wider region, as well as to the ideals espoused by the New Order. However, more modern traditions and customs have become part of life for the Sector's population. On Day 24 (Coruscanti Calander), residents of towns and cities gather to celebrate "Solemnis Diei". Traditionally, it was a day when Essellian prisoners were introduced to society and would be able to plead for their freedom. If citizens believed they were innocent; they would be granted living quarters and all sins removed. This is now celebrated as a day when people can start the new year fresh and look towards the future. Most citizens receive a day-off and it has become popular for jailed citizens to be released on this day "to start afresh".

However, more modern traditions and customs can also be seen to endure to this day. On Day 24, residents of towns and cities gather to celebrate "Solemnis Diei". Traditionally, this was a day when prisoners were presented to society and given a chance to plead for their freedom. If citizens believed in the innocence of those presented, then they would be granted living quarters and they would be absolved of all sin. This is now celebrated as a day when people can start the new year fresh and look towards the future. It is a public holiday, with most workers taking the day off, and it has become popular for government to delay any pardons they were planning to give throughout the year, instead reserving their announcement for this day.

Day 69 on the Coruscanti Calendar is known as "Diligo Omnis". Developed from the Essellian belief that life begins upon procreation; the holiday has become a day for those in love to celebrate and acknowledge their gratitude to their love ones. Presents are exchanged and, more often than not, marriages occur on this day.

Day 159 is known as "Imperator Remeo" and is the newest traditional holiday to the Sector. Following the return of Emperor Vodo to the Imperial Throne, a former Army Commanding Officer and former Governor of Carida, citizens throughout the Sector decided to celebrate the day as a tribute to all Imperial Emperors. Past Emperors are remembered and the current Emperor's achievements are displayed across the Sector in a variety of mediums. The Imperial Army Garrison at Carida holds a full military parade in honour of the Emperor and in Year 10, the day was included in the Imperial Navy's Fleet Day organizations. It has become one of the many military and Imperial-based traditions to emerge in recent years.

Day 159 is known as "Imperator Remeo", and is a relatively recent tradition. Following the return of Emperor Vodo to the Imperial Throne, a former Army Commanding Officer and former Governor of Carida, which many residents still associate with the Darpa sector, citizens throughout the sector decided to celebrate the day as a tribute to all Imperial Sovereigns. Past Sovereigns are remembered and the current Emperor's achievements are displayed across the sector in a variety of media.

Day 182 is known as "Dimidium Putesco" and is a rare custom, its origins unknown. Citizens throughout the Sector temporarily stop their jobs for a week, all working together to improve their cities. One historian found documents pre-Essellian Empire that mentioned "Gods of the Sun commanded its subjects to be equals" and it has been established that the day was meant to help the weak and the poor. Now however it has become a day when everyone works to improve their living standards. The custom is dying out, with recent Imperial development resulting in a diminished need for the day. Some have adopted the day as a celebration of life, whilst others just ignore it.

Day 225 marks the beginning of the "Carida Ball", an event hosted by the Army High Command. It is a formal occasion in which the Galactic Empire's highest society, including Imperial High Command, met for a week-long event featuring a showcasing of the Imperial Army. Its opening day and ceremony has commonly been broadcasted live across the Holonet as Imperial Legions display their skills and abilities in drill, precision, musical talents and many more. Each night features an banquet and the final night, after a day-long concert, features the Carida Ball, the largest formal Ball in the galaxy with over 22 million participating in Year 9.

Finally, Day 346 is known as "Memoria". It is a day of mourning and remembrance for those that have sacrificed their lives for the Sector, and the Galactic Empire. A military parade is held at every garrison, with various ceremonies and events occurring throughout the day to ensure the dead are acknowledged for their sacrifice.

It has also become common practice for marriages to occur in military parade squares, with the Sector once populated almost entirely by those in the military or with ties to the military. Whilst some marriages occur in different locations, some garrisons have exclusive parade squares for local citizens to get married at. An honorary salute for the couple, typically 11 rifles being fired, is given after the wedding ceremony.

Imperial Influences
Following the transition of the Old Republic into the Galactic Empire, it was quickly decided that Carida was ideally suited as the planet to hold the Army Headquarters. With the planet not located in the Coruscant Sector, where it was feared that the Army Commanding Officer could use their power over the Imperial Army to perform a coup, but located close enough to provide immediate assistance in the event of an attack; the Sector became heavily influenced by the changing Government and adapted rapidly to the changes that it was presented.

The immediate influence of Imperial rule can been seen on the planet of Carida. Its buildings were designed and constructed by the Military as it began to establish its control on the planet. Simple yet protective designs are seen throughout the cities of Carida, the dull-grey durasteel exteriors hiding the modern interiors. In recent years, citizens have taken to displaying their loyalty to the Empire by displaying various Imperial banners throughout their streets. Mighty skyscrapers drape the Imperial emblem, letting all those know where their loyalty lies.

Citizens also display a loyal commitment to the Imperial Army, mainly due to the presence of the Army Headquarters. It is expected to see Imperial Stormtroopers patrolling the streets and military parades often have high civilian attendences as support is shown to the benefactors of the Sector's development.

Sports
As with all Imperial Sectors, the primary sports played within the Darpa Sector are Bolo-Ball, Shockball and, most recently, Podracing. Boga Minawk hasn't developed a strong following, many citizens in the Sector preferring the highly-publicized leagues.

The primary Bolo-Ball team is Carida Athetic. After several years of sitting in the lowest Bolo-Ball League, the team has recently found promotion to Tier 2 of the Imperial Bolo-Ball League system and has a large following of supporters from the Nopces system. Many of its players are secured from the Carida Training Academy, with failed students that have a high athletic ability being recruited directly onto the Bolo-Ball arenas.

Several Shockball teams are based within the Sector, although only two are known within the Galaxy: the Darpa Destroyers and the Basho Banshees. Both teams have yet to qualify for the Imperial League, instead ploughing their trade in the inter-sector competitions. The Banshees were formed upon the recent success in capturing the planet; Imperial troops would play mini-Shockball games as reconstruction work continued and local citizens soon became playing. Eventually, small teams were formed across the sector with the Basho Banshees emerging as the primary team.

Finally, Team Carida represents the Sector in the Podracing Leagues. Using the many different terrains on the planet of Carida, the Podracing team has an advantage in training over its competitors. With technicians based upon the planet eager to dabble in the complex and delicate systems in a Podracer, there is no shortage of talent to be used in the designing and maintaining of Team Carida.

Law
The Sector Government is the Supreme Law within the Darpa Sector and, in accordance with the Drayson Act, holds the full authority and power within the Sector. Whilst each Sector has its own sub-laws, the Darpa Sector follows the Imperial Law standards as listed and classified in the Imperial Code of Laws, as maintained by the Imperial High Command and the Imperial Security Bureau.
+
Sports
All crimes and trials of a Summary or Indictable nature are handled by the Darpa Sector Government's Judiciary Department, typically with an Imperial Security Bureau Liaison in attendance. The local civilian security organization, the Darpa Security Force, work only with citizens of the Sector, whilst the Imperial Military holds jurisdiction over Military personnel. Both the DSF and Imperial Military share jurisdiction over incoming traffic from the nearby Trade Route and will often work in unison to ensure the safety of the Sector.

The Perlemian Trade Route runs through the Darpa Sector and has for centuries been vital to the Sector's economy. During the times of the Old Republic, the Trade Route was littered with various trading stations and production centres as the Regional Government pushed to ensure maximum profits were obtained from the safe Hyperspace lane that cut through the Sector. This would continue as the Galactic Empire came to power although the Carida system was deemed a "no-go" area due to the presence of the Imperial Army.
+
Finally, Team Ralltiir represents the sector in the Podracing Leagues. Using the many different terrains on the planet of Ralltiir, the Podracing team has an advantage in training over its competitors. With technicians based upon the planet eager to dabble in the complex and delicate systems in a Podracer, there is no shortage of talent to be used in the designing and maintaining of Team Ralltiir.

Imperial patrols ensure that visitors passing through the Trade Route remain within their designated area and often use the Trade Route to catch any unsuspecting smugglers attempting to sneak through the Imperial Sector. With the Trade Route passing through several hostile Sectors and with a high chance of attackers using the secured Hyperspace lane as a means of striking the Sector, the Trade Route has been closed off from the Mid-Rim Sectors.

Production Centers
+
The Darpa Sector is part of the Coruscant Oversector, which is in turn part of the Emerald Region. In accordance with the Drayson Act, holds the full authority and power within the sector lies with the Regional Governor and his representatives. Whilst each Region and Oversector have their own sub-laws, the Darpa Sector follows all Imperial Law standards as listed and classified in the Imperial Code of Laws, as maintained by the Imperial High Command and the Imperial Security Bureau.

With the Imperial Expansion Program being released and the reorganization of Imperial Nationalized Factions into the Ministry of Industry, the Darpa Sector has yet to experience the full effects of the Program. Several deals have been arranged with the Imperial Resource Extractions to expand upon their operations within the Sector in preparation for the upcoming construction efforts. Already there are planetary mining operations underway whilst Government-supporting prospecting operations are underway.

The Carida system holds several key production installations due to the proximity of the Imperial Army and the Perlemian Trade Route. Myorzo Weapons Systems and Magnaguard Manufacturing provide their goods directly to the Imperial Army, a direct supply line to their clients whilst having several available, and short-range, options for raw materials to process.

Government
+
The Perlemian Trade Route runs through Darpa and has for centuries been vital to the sector's economy. During the times of the Republic, the trade route was littered with various trading stations and production centres as the Regional Government pushed to ensure maximum profits were obtained from the safe hyperlane that cut through the sector. This would continue as the Galactic Empire came to power, although certain parts of the sector were reserved for military use and thus trade traffic was heavily restricted.

Like most Imperial Sectors, the Government follows the traditional structure that was introduced with the formation of the Galactic Empire. A Moff, appointed by the Imperial Throne, holds the ultimate power over the Sector. With a seat on Imperial High Command and the Council of Moffs, the Darpa Sector Moff has full command of all citizens and military units within Darpa. It is the Moff's duty to ensure the development of the Sector and to provide the Empire with a reliable Sector, both economically and militaristic.

With the trade route passing through several sectors which do not enjoy the direct protection of His Majesty, and with a high chance of attackers using the secured hyperlane as a means of striking within the sector, the trade route has been closed off from the Mid-Rim sectors.

The Sector Moff is assisted by a Sector Adjutant, typically the second-in-command of the Sector. Most Sector Adjutants control the daily activities that occur across the Sector that requires the Government to act. It is a natural assumption that the Sector Adjutant will become the next Sector Moff, although it is not always the case. In addition to his duties to the entire Sector, the Sector Adjutant holds control of a Sub-Sector and is responsible for the development of that Sub-Sector.

Currently, the Darpa Sector is part of the Coruscant Oversector. This makes it directly overseen by the Regional Governor of the Emerald Region and his Adjutant for the Oversector. Previously, the Darpa Sector was considered its own Imperial Sector and was directly ruled by its own Moff, appointed by His Majesty.

Finally, the last position in the Sector Governor is that of Planetary Governor. Appointed by the Sector Moff, Governors are only responsible for their planet and are tasked with the running of the planet. Additionally, Governors are required to improve, maintain and develop their planets as much as possible without hampering any Imperial plans. The position however isn't a long-term position, with many Governors being rotated to different planets to prevent any loyalties being formed that could damage the Sector's development.

Darpa has traditionally maintained an isolationist position in Galactic Politics, preferring to instead entrust His Majesty's judgment on foreign relations. Traders using the trade route are required to apply for a Docking Permit if they want to use Starports within Darpa and are heavily monitored whilst within the Sector. It isn't uncommon to see patrol squadrons moving through the sector, providing it and the galactic sectors adjacent to it with critical security surveillance.

Imperial citizens can join the Regional Government staff and are spread across the various departments and planets that the Sector Government controls. They are often specialized recruited from the Imperial Military or a Nationalized company to increase the knowledge of their department, often in designing expansion plans and executing the orders of the Sector Moff.

Sub-Sectors
The Darpa Sector contains three sub-sectors within its borders. These sub-sectors have no inherent jurisdiction and only have those powers delegated to them by the Sector Government. Theoretically, sub-sectors have a great deal of power relative to the Sector Government, with jurisdiction over many public goods such as healthcare, education, welfare, and intra-Sector development. They receive "transfer payments" from the Sector Government to pay for these, as well as exacting their own taxes. In practice, however, the Sector Government can use these transfer payments to influence these sub-sector areas. For instance in order to receive healthcare funding under medicare, provinces must agree to meet certain Sector mandates, such as universal access to required medical treatment.

There are three sub-sectors within the Darpa Sector and are led by experienced Governors. Sub-Sector Alpha contains the Carida system and its control held by the Sector Adjutant due to the importance of the system. Sub-Sector Bravo contains the Nopces, Lenneria and Essessia systems. Sub-Sector Charlie contains the Rhinnal and Ralltiir systems.

Foreign Relations
Close to the Coruscant Sector and two neutral Sectors, the Darpa Sector maintains an isolationism position in Galactic Politics to avoid the loss of a key Sector to the Galactic Empire and the Army Headquarters. Traders using the Trade Route are required to apply for a Docking Permit if they want to use Starports within the Darpa Sector and are heavily monitored whilst within the Sector. It isn't uncommon to see Indictor squadrons moving through the Sector as they ensure the vulnerable systems are protected from surprise attacks.

The Rhinnal system, formerly controlled by the Rebel Alliance, has been closed off and blockaded for several years as Imperial Forces continue to eliminate pro-rebel terrorist organizations. The highly successful capture of Basho revealed the weakness of the Rebel Alliance and the strength of the Darpa Sector as resistance was minimal and casualty rates one of the lowest in an Imperial  Military campaign. Tensions increased between the Darpa Sector and Keer Mining following the capture of several mining installations before the mining corporation was evicted with force from the Sector and the Rhinnal system.

Imperial Army
Carida is home to the center and Headquarters of the Imperial Army, with a permanent legion attached to the Sector to ensure the protection of Army High Command. All members of the Imperial Army pass through Carida in preparation for their assignment to a legion, with the Carida Training Academy and the RAD-Army depot. With a massive estate on par with the Imperial Palace and just as luxurious, the Carida Ball held within the Army Headquarters grounds.

Additionally, the variety of environments within the Darpa Sector provide the Imperial Army with the perfect training grounds and several planets have Military-only sections granted by the Sector Government. With nearby factories supplying the Army with vehicles, weapons and equipment, it is understandable that the Imperial Army Commanding Officer is jokingly called "the next Emperor". Without having to transport supplies from across the galaxy, the Imperial Army is situated perfectly as a powerhouse that has previously been a concern for the Imperial Throne.

Carida Training Academy
A Sector and Imperial-supported military institute that is one of the three top Imperial Academies; the Carida Training Academy directly supports the Galactic Empire with battle-ready Stormtroopers that have become the most feared infantry unit in the Galaxy. Based on the Spinara Plateau and surrounded by dagger-like mountains, the Academy is composed of several impressive buildings that acted as living and dining space, training areas, as well as administrative and Caridan government offices.

Formed around Year -5,000 for training local planetary defense forces, it quickly became recognized across the galaxy for its high standards and became the primary Academy of the Old Republic's Army. The Academy would be renamed Republic Defense Academy and for centuries trained soldiers in defensive duties. As the Clone Wars approached and the Military Creation Act formed; the Academy received a surge of new recruits that signed on to the Republic Military.

Upon the formation of the Galactic Empire, the Academy was named to the Carida Training Academy and became Government-ran. The fearsome Stormtroopers emerged from its doors and its holding capacity was increased to 250,000 recruits at any one time. The reputation of Carida became so strong that it became synonymous with military education and was known by many as simply "the Imperial Academy", despite the existence of several major and hundreds of minor state-operated Imperial academies.

Imperial Navy
An Imperial Naval Fleet is stationed within the Darpa Sector, its duties to ensure the continued well-being of the Sector and to maintain a space dominance at all times. Due to the presence of the Rebel Alliance in the Rhinnal system, several squadrons from the Fleet are often within the system to maintain the decade-long blockade. This proved valuable when the Imperial Military conquered the planet of Basho, reinforcements from the Rebel Alliance being halted outside of the system borders by Interdictors and forced to retreat.

Recent Conflicts
In Year 10, the rebel planet of Basho was successfully regained in a short campaign by the Imperial Military and Imperial Government. After several political mistakes and years of negate from the Rebel Alliance, citizens of the planet rebelled and declared themselves an independent government. Instantly, blockading Naval ships from the Galactic Empire entered the planet's orbit and shortly after the planetary government was returned to Imperial control.

History

Prior to its reformation, the Imperial Sector of Darpa was a hub for Imperial business. It contained three well-known systems: the Bhargebba system, then known as Esseles, which now administratively belongs to the Corporate Oversector. It also contained the Humbarine system, which was then known as Rhinnal, as well as Carida, both of which now fall under the Kuat Oversector.

Customs and Traditions

With the majority of its population originating from the Core Worlds, the traditions on Darpa have had to adjust to the cosmopolitan standards of the wider region, as well as to the ideals espoused by the New Order. Many customs and traditions are military-oriented. One ancient custom, now only rarely seen on Ralltiir, requires newly wed couples to consummate their marriage on the hills of Lamia, where an ancient mystical power will ensure happiness throughout the couple's lives. It is thought that this custom originated from a legend that a woman with the ability to alter emotions lived on the hills and would ensure a successful marriage if true love could be shown to her.

Day 69 is known as "Diligo Omnis". Developed from the local belief that life begins upon procreation, the holiday has become a day for those in love to celebrate and acknowledge their gratitude to their loved ones. Presents are exchanged and, more often than not, marriages occur on this day.

Sports

The most popular sports within the Darpa Sector are Bolo-Ball, Shockball and Podracing, which has only gained traction recently. Boga Minawk hasn't developed a strong following, with many citizens in the sector preferring the highly-publicized leagues.

The primary Bolo-Ball team is Clascvoria Athetic. After several years of sitting in the lowest Bolo-Ball League, the team recently found promotion to Tier 2 of the Imperial Bolo-Ball League system and has a large following of supporters from the system. Many of its players are scouted from the Carida Training Academy, with failed students that have a high athletic ability being recruited directly onto the Bolo-Ball arenas.

Several Shockball teams are also based within the sector, although only two are known throughout the wider Galaxy: the Darpa Destroyers, and the now defunct Bansho Banshees. Both teams have yet to qualify for the Imperial League, instead performing in the inter-sector competitions. The Banshees were formed upon the recent success in capturing Basho; Imperial troops would play mini-Shockball games as reconstruction work continued and local citizens soon adopted the same habit.

Law

The Darpa Sector is part of the Coruscant Oversector, which is in turn part of the Emerald Region. In accordance with the Drayson Act, holds the full authority and power within the sector lies with the Regional Governor and his representatives. Whilst each Region and Oversector have their own sub-laws, the Darpa Sector follows all Imperial Law standards as listed and classified in the Imperial Code of Laws, as maintained by the Imperial High Command and the Imperial Security Bureau.

All crimes and trials of a Summary or Indictable nature are handled by the Regional Government's Judiciary Department, typically with an Imperial Security Bureau Liaison in attendance. The local civilian security organization works only with citizens of the sector, whilst the Imperial Military holds jurisdiction over Military personnel. Both the security force and Imperial Military share jurisdiction over incoming traffic from the nearby trade routes and will often work in unison to ensure the safety of the sector.

Economy

Trade Routes

The Perlemian Trade Route runs through Darpa and has for centuries been vital to the sector's economy. During the times of the Republic, the trade route was littered with various trading stations and production centres as the Regional Government pushed to ensure maximum profits were obtained from the safe hyperlane that cut through the sector. This would continue as the Galactic Empire came to power, although certain parts of the sector were reserved for military use and thus trade traffic was heavily restricted.

Imperial patrols ensure that visitors passing through the trade route remain within their designated area and often use the trade route to catch any unsuspecting smugglers attempting to sneak through the Coruscant Oversector. With the trade route passing through several sectors which do not enjoy the direct protection of His Majesty, and with a high chance of attackers using the secured hyperlane as a means of striking within the sector, the trade route has been closed off from the Mid-Rim sectors.

Production Centers

With the Imperial Expansion Program being released and the reorganization of Imperial Nationalized Factions into the Ministry of Industry, Darpa soon started to see the effects of the new economic development program. Several deals were arranged with the Imperial Mining Corporation to expand their operations within the Sector in preparation for the upcoming construction efforts. Already there are planetary mining operations underway whilst government-driven prospecting operations are underway.
