The Imperial Academy is the Galactic Empire's educational institution which prepares recruits for service in the Imperial Navy and Imperial Army. The Academy is run by the Academy Commandant who reports to the Vizier of the Coalition for Progress.

School of Officer and Command Studies
History
In Year 7, the Universitas Imperius (as the Imperial Academy was then known as) was formed after an overhaul of the Imperial educational system. Taking advantage of the latest technologies, universities were established on every capital planet in Imperial-controlled systems as part of the Universitas Imperius Education System (UIES).
Under the leadership of Chancellor Rann Van, appointed by the Ministry of Operations as the dean of Universitas Imperius, several colleges under the UIES were formed, including the School of Acting, Officer's College, School of Engineering, School of Army Studies, School of Navy Studies, and School of Law and Foreign Relations.
Following Van's retirement, Tec Vaan was appointed as the new Chancellor of the UIES. Upon the reunification of the New Imperial Order and the Galactic Empire, Universitas Imperius was renamed the Imperial Academy.
