Raffael Goschmitt is native from Tatooine. His father, Karl Goschmitt, is a military scientist and is specialized in designing new ship technologies to the Empire; he served in the Army while he was young, however, he was transfered to the Ministery of Industries due to his loss of his right eye and also lack of combat skill plus comproved high IQ. His mother, Stephanie Goschmitt, is a comerciant and housekeeper. Both of them are, in every way, pro-Empire.

Raffael's childhood was very tough, when it comes to discipline. Karl, especially, taught him well about hierarchy, raising him in the same military way that he was. With his father as a ship designer, Raffael grown up hearing about ships almost everytime, and also looking to the designs and preparations. It wasn't a coincidence that the little boy quickly got fascinated by the ships and how they work; Karl, when talking about his job, used to get excited and talk in a very energic way, and fascinated everyone that listens to him. Raffael never really understood how to design and build them, but the funcionality was kinda easy to him. At least on the theory.

He spent all his training time from 14 to 16 years old in what his father called ' basic physical training ' that, in his opinion, was necessary to every man, especially the military. The physical training was more focused on running; Karl used to say that it was the more effective way of training the physical body, since it basically helps everything, however, he also used to do push-ups. After 2 years training his physical body and without much real evolution - at least, compared to the time he spent training.

As a teen, from 15 to 16 years, Raffael used to train 5 times a week and had 2 day offs. During his day offs, he used to hang around the city, and it didn't took too long for him to make a little fame around his name; not the best type of fame, however. Most people throught he was strange, because of the excess of sarcasm and jokes - some of them, dirty jokes to women. He had grown into a very handsome man by the ladies view, with much help from the physical train, so he could actually make such kind of joke.

At the end of his trainment, his father actually engaged him in a physical fight. According to the fight rules, you could use any weapon you find close, and if you wanted to give up, you could.

Well, Karl showed no mercy with his son, really getting nearby weapons to hurt him. In the end, Raffael and Karl were both exausted, and both gave up. At this time, Karl accepted that his son had the same problem with physical body as him.

Karl, who never liked to pilot ships, could never serve the Navy while young, but that was an option to Raffael; a way to serve without the need of physical strenght at all.

During one of the starfighter races bets, he met a girl called Amelia Leonie. She had a stare that mesmerized him; though he didn't usually bet, he went nearby and heard she asking ''who was racing anyway''. After the list of names, she randomly bet 100 credits on him, without even knowing who was he. With a smirk, he approached and, still looking to her, bet against her on another pilot - just so she'd win.

After he, by far, won the race and the credits were delivered to her, he walked to her again to talk. In the same day, he was " invited " to her house - where he promptly stolen his 100 credits back, saying ''"they're mine anyway, sweetheart"''. Since then, they became as well close friends, while she kept followed him claiming that the only thing she that wanted was to be paid her 100 credits. It became a common joke since then.

About one year later, he was forced to nearly stop racing - though not completely - on his seventeen's and focused more on his father's military training, since his father was planning for him to enlist. Tusken and Anooba attacks were more likely at that time, which made his father to always recommend him to walk around with a Blaster, even though he wasn't in the Military yet. That night, he ignored, as usual, his father's recommendation as he went to a starfighter race with Amelia. After winning, they sneaked out of the annoyingly loud crowd. Without a blaster, he was defenseless to the Anooba attack coming against them. Though the Anoobas were not particularly strong, they only attacked in large numbers; they ran, but Amelia did not manage to survive the wounds.

Raffael started to pilot as soon as he finished the physical train. And then, he felt that he could be piloting forever, and would never get tired - even if certainly would run out of fuel. It was clear that Raffael had some kind of natural talent about piloting ships - maybe because he was raised hearing about ships and how do they work. The point is that he finally found joy on his train; definitely, if he could chose, he would like to serve the Imperial Navy. Until now, despite girls, piloting was the best experience on his life. Since the small ship that he was piloting had no weapons, Raffael could only train his control of the ship, and sharped that skill as much as he could. However, issues occurred, of course; there are always issues, everywhere. The ship broke. But Karl, instead of paying someone to fix it, decided that it would be a nice opportunity to teach Raffael how to fix ships as well. Raffael tried to fix the ship with his father lessons, but it was a disaster; computers were more interesting than that, an interest that he found during one of his day offs. With this final disaster, Karl gave up and fixed the ship himself. The next 2 years, Raffael would focus all his available time during his 5 train days in your pilot training.

Raffael grew up in Tatooine with the Goschmitt family, being his father a former soldier of the Imperial Army and now working in the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Though his raising was mostly disciplined, military-like, he was a racer during his teenage life; always loved speed and used to pilot speeders and starfighters for that, always making a decent amount of money. His life on Tatooine wasn't too different than the usual for every other person, which were basically the stupid years of his life: shooting, barfights, beating up smugglers, gambling, among other things.
