Early Life
Marquis likes to say that he acquired his love for exploration through his father, a retired Royal Navy Admiral. As a boy growing up in the Hapes Cluster, he could never take his eyes off the majestic architecture and engineering that represented Hapes and its culture. Marquis grew up in Stalsinek a system distant from the other systems in the cluster so his early experiences of the architecture and engineering of Hapes was through the art his father brought home from his travels in the Navy. Marquis was the second of two brothers and a sister, he was born on Stalsinek IV Year 17 Day 300.

The Hapan Hamet
Having grown up in a region where a monarchy existed, the throne, royal family, and kingdom were a significant influence in Marquis's early life. An important question was not what the Throne could do for him, but what he could do for the Throne. Marquis had a great deal of respect for the Throne growing up and his talents and interests would eventually help prepare a way for him to express that.
The Marksman Hamet
In the Hamet Family, Marquis is considered a talented marksman who rarely missed a target. He shot recreationally and in competitions eventually becoming well known for his ability to handle a gun. This talent caught the interest of the Throne during his adulthood leading to his recruitment into the military. Marquis started his military career as a sniper and eventually became an instructor. He became a skilled combatant throughout his military career and realizing his ability to shoot was an important asset he had a desire to become a Sovereign Protector.
