Raffael enlisted in the Empire on his early 18's, being at first a naive enthusiast of ships with a military raising background. Away from his family since he began to serve in the Imperial Navy, along with the years of service, Raffael began to dedicate his life to the Empire, his personality suffering slight changes with time: from a naive enthusiastic person to an arrogant, dry and sarcastic one.

Raffael Goschmitt is native from Tatooine. His father, Karl Goschmitt, is a former Imperial military and is now working in designing new ship technologies to the Empire; he served in the Army while he was young to strenghten his beliefs and then asked transference to the Ministry of Industry, in the Corellian Engineering Corporation, where he works nowadays; despites being very military, Karl never had what it took, physically speaking, to be in the Imperial Army, or the ability to pilot a ship to be in the Imperial Navy. His mother, Stephanie Goschmitt, is a comerciant and housekeeper; they met in Tatooine, where Raffael was born, but moved to Coruscant with the New Republic taking the planet.

Early Life
Raffael's childhood was very tough, as he was raised in a very military way and it since a very early age he always used to obey his father without questioning anything. Despites having his father to work in the Ministry of Industry, that was not the way Raffael saw his life, as the boy looked foward to pilot the Imperial ships instead of having them built. Despites that, Raffael learned well how to command, since he and his father had more like a Commander-Soldier relationship, rather than Father-Son, and, regardless of his will, learned very well the tricks in a computer. Still, his natural talent to pilot was undeniable, being him one of the fastest pilots of Coruscant.

Raffael grew up in Tatooine with the Goschmitt family, being his father a former soldier of the Imperial Army and now working in the Corellian Engineering Corporation. Though his raising was mostly disciplined, military-like, he was a racer during his teenage life; always loved speed and used to pilot speeders and starfighters for that, always making a decent amount of money. His life on Tatooine wasn't too different than the usual for every other person, which were basically the stupid years of his life: shooting, barfights, beating up smugglers, gambling, among other things.

During one of the starfighter races bets, he met a girl called Amelia Leonie. She had a stare that mesmerized him; though he didn't usually bet, he went nearby and heard she asking who was racing anyway. After the list of names, she randomly bet 100 credits on him, without even knowing who was he. With a smirk, he approached and, still looking to her, bet against her on another pilot - just so she'd win.

After he, by far, won the race and the credits were delivered to her, he walked to her again to talk. In the same day, he was " invited " to her house - where he promptly stolen his 100 credits back, saying "they're mine anyway, sweetheart". Since then, they became as well close friends, while she kept followed him claiming that the only thing she that wanted was to be paid her 100 credits. It became a common joke since then.

About one year later, he was forced to nearly stop racing - though not completely - on his seventeen's and focused more on his father's military training, since his father was planning for him to enlist. Tusken and Anooba attacks were more likely at that time, which made his father to always recommend him to walk around with a Blaster, even though he wasn't in the Military yet. That night, he ignored, as usual, his father's recommendation as he went to a starfighter race with Amelia. After winning, they sneaked out of the annoyingly loud crowd. Without a blaster, he was defenseless to the Anooba attack coming against them. Though the Anoobas were not particularly strong, they only attacked in large numbers; they ran, but Amelia did not manage to survive the wounds.

With a few more than one year serving in the Imperial Navy, Raffael saw a lot and also did a lot. If his personality had already changed with the incident with Amelia, serving in the military helped even more. It didn't remember even the shadow of the naive racer  living in Tatooine, being replaced now with a dry, sarcastic and somewhat arrogant Imperial, commited to his duty. Dedicating his life to the Empire, Raffael not only fulfills the regular duties of his fleet, but also works, part-time, in the Imperial Academy as a Junior Training Officer and in the Imperial Center for Recruitment.

The subordination from Raffael to his father ended when he joined the Imperial Academy. Having his will instead of his father's now, he moved to the Imperial Academy, no longer living with his parents - though they still maintained contact - while he studied under the Training Officer assigned to him, Califf D`Troit, at the time, a Captain in the Army.

Despites being stubborn on his own view of justice, assuring that everyone follows the Imperial Law, and having caused trouble with that, Raffael's promotion to Ensign and, later on, position of Executive Officer of the 2nd Group, 2nd Imperial Fleet only made his dedication stronger. And even nowadays he keeps, on his pocket, those 100 credits that he once stole from Amelia's pocket.

The life in the Academy was a pleasure, since Raffael never had actually freedom to organize his own life; being disciplined enough to dedicate himself in his studies, though relaxing well enough not to feel stressed with overwork, he passed in the Academy with 94%. With that, he did choose to serve in the Imperial Navy - which didn't surprise any of his parents, considering his natural talent with Starfighters. With a nod, he left the Imperial Academy and waited for a pilot of his assigned fleet to pick him up. That's how the life in the military started.

Back to Tatooine
As a soldier in the Imperial Navy, he went through a lot of missions that required him a lot of work. As he climbed up the ranks and with the increasing of the responsibilities, instead of working less, he arranged a part-time job in the COMPNOR as an Imperial Recruiter, out of his will to drag more people to the Galactic Empire, not to mention the will to become an Officer.

With his work, being away from his father for long, much of him have changed in personality. He found some sort of balance on his discipline - being that, taught by his family and enforced by the military - and his own natural personality, being sarcastic and somewhat playful. His appearance changed as well; while he was always bald during most of his life, being that imposed by his father, he could throw his own personality into his appearance now, and that involved allowing his hair to grow at will and just messing it in any way that he wanted. Though he was taking these " small actions " of freedom, the most important kept in his mind: the commitment to the military and to his mission.

Not much time after he was named Executive Officer, he went back to Tatooine in order to see his parents. Only to find out, of course, that he couldn't exactly walk around the planet: it was dominated now by the New Republic. It wasn't hard for him, however, to find out what happened, contacting a few people that he still knew in the planet: both of his parents died in the struggle against the rebel dominion. He expected a mix of emotions to pass through him, but what he did was only turn his freighter back and fly away from the planet, sighing.

Though disciplined, Raffael is very proud of his own achievings and can become slightly arrogant if he doesn't refrain himself. He usually does refrain and, in duty, speaks with an emotionless tone without questioning orders or decisions. It doesn't mean that he doesn't have an opinion; he was just used to accept decisions coming from the superiors with naturality, as he was raised like that.

His personality changed quite an amount during the years, especially after the incident with Amelia; though he used to be a troublemaker, he now behaves with pride. Dry, sarcastic and also somewhat arrogant, hardly any person would like to be near him. It's known, however, that he cares deeply about his fleetmates, being those under him or not - they are the closest relationship of a "family" that he have.

While talking in private, off duty or just not receiving orders, however, it's a different thing; he can be a very flirting person and kind of sarcastic, usually doing jokes that one could ask itself if that was a joke or his actual opinion. It's also hard t o know if he actually mean it when he flirts or if that's just more sarcasm from him. Despites his high rate of racism, he could be a fun person to be around - or not.

Biography

Early Life

"Pst, you gotta practice if you wanna beat me."
— Teenager Raffael to a Smuggler after winning a starfighter race.

Imperial Life

"Keep following me."
— Raffael on Amelia's Funeral.
