The Imperial Security Bureau, commonly abbreviated to ISB or the Bureau, is the primary police/law enforcement organization in the Galactic Empire. It is the sister department of Imperial Intelligence. Its headquarters is located on Imperial Centre, in the ISB Central Office located on the planet Diamal.

Role

The ISB is responsible for internal security. The ISB stations agents within every unit and department of the Empire. Their roles include, among other things, policing, counter-terrorism, investigation, apprehension, communication monitoring, surveillance, interrogation, Order-wide human resource management, re-education, adjudication and protocol enforcement. The Bureau maintains a public presence in all Imperial communication channels, providing additional security and an accessible means of contact for all Imperial citizens to voice their concerns about the security of their military, or civilian unit for the benefit of the Empire.

Structure

The Director is the head of the ISB. He reports directly to the Grand Vizier and the Imperial Throne. His second-in-command is the Deputy Director, who only reports to him. The Deputy Director is responsible for leading the ISB in the absence of the Director.

The Chief of Enforcement works alongside Imperial Intelligence, bounty hunters, and planetary governments to assist the Bureau in the apprehension of Imperial lawbreakers. As does the Enforcers of the Bureau, who operate under the Chief of Enforcements command. The Prime Adjudicator is the chief investigator of all high crimes. The Adjudicators operate in the same fashion, but are not the cheif investigator of all crimes, just specific ones they are tasked with. They both report to the Deputy Director.

ISB Branch Liaisons have full jurisdiction, control, and command over Bureau activities within their branch. A Sector Liaison has full jurisdiction and control over all branches and departments within their sector; they work alongside and with the Fleet, Legion Liaisons and also Intelligence Officers assigned to their sector. Branch and Sector Liaisons report to the Deputy Director. The Fleet and Legion Liaisons are directly assigned to their military unit and oversee only ISB-related activities within those units. They generally report to either their Branch or Sector Liaison. While the Intelligence Officers are assigned to a specific over sector and provide accurate intelligence for military officers that are apart of their sector command, but as for reporting, they are required to report to Imperial Intelligence.
