About the Ministry
Formed following the coronation of Emperor Seele I in Year 18 Day 111, the Ministry of Interior is charged with the responsibility of leading the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR) in all matters of infrastructure, finance, and resource and personnel allocations. While Imperials are at the forefront of the galaxy, the experienced members of the Ministry of Interior are behind the lines managing and maintaining critical infrastructure and key resources to ensure their success.
Due to the nature of the ministry, numerous personnel are assigned to the various nationalized interests of the Galactic Empire, maintaining corporate holdings on behalf of the industry to manage operations independently of the Government, while subsidizing excess stock or material gathering operations through public sales to the general galactic population, or through supplies to Imperial Union allies. The appointment of the Minister is made by either the Grand Vizier, Executor, or Emperor, and has no term limit. The Minister serves at the behest of the Emperor until such time they feel unable to fulfill their duties in the role, or the Galactic Empire has a different assignment for the Minister to fulfill.
Before the Ministry of Interiors formation by Emperor Seele, all Industry operations of the Galactic Empire were maintained within a separate ministry of COMPNOR. However, given the need for strong communication between the various Industries, Nationalized Corporations, and RAD-E, Industry was merged into the Ministry of Interior portfolio. The industry brought in the various Nationalized Corporations operating as the sole providers for the Empire's technologically advanced products and the Research and Development operations creating the most cutting-edge technology to ensure alignment for RAD-E, but also to ensure the Imperial Treasury could more easily monitor investments across the department.

Imperial Medical Department
|
|
Not to be confused with the nationalized corporation of the Empire, Binring Biomedical, The Imperial Medical Department is primarily responsible for maintaining all Imperial Hospitals across the galaxy. Additionally, it ensures proper training for all medical operatives, including combat medics and surgeons, to allow a single source of the latest in medical procedure techniques, knowledge, and methods of treatment for patients. Made up of the Centers for Treatment Evaluation and Disease Eradication, the Department attracts some of the sharpest and most talented medical professionals from through the vast reaches of Imperial territory.
With the inception of the New Order and the introduction of the new Species Policy SP-14, the Medical Department began various advances in restorative techniques for both Class B and C races to align with the new Imperial values. Such advancements in alien technology and research have seen vast improvements across the galaxy, with various publications distributing Imperial findings to local medical facilities.
The Medical Department is spearheaded by the Surgeon General of the Galactic Empire, who reports directly to the Minister of the Interior. While the title is not a recognized rank within the Empire, it holds the same level of respect as a Moff or Fleet Admiral, recognizing the impressive tenure of devotion to the medical field required to obtain such a position as the top medical professional across Imperial space.
Imperial Research and Development
|
|
The Research and Development of the Empire is paramount to its continued success in ruling the galaxy. Specializing in both Military and Civilian research operations, the department employs the best and brightest to help drive research into the most efficient, powerful, or secure technology. While known primarily for the technological advances that brought the Executor-class, Imperial-I class, and Victory-I class Star Destroyers to the galaxy, its continued efforts and success have seen not only the military might of the Empire grow, but civilian operations as well.
Working in tandem with Imperial Medical Surgeons, improvements to circuitry within the MD Medical Specialist and FX-7 Medical Droids drove substantial improvements to medical surgery success rates, while the introduction of the MSE-6 'Mouse' Droid to the galaxy meant that anyone from a small shop owner to the Commander of an Imperial Legion could maintain basic surveillance of their territory easily.
Led by a visionary Directory, the department strives to be at the forefront of innovation and improvement to keep the Empire at the forefront of the galaxy when it comes to cutting-edge technology. The department handles all matters of new product development, as well as researching the most efficient means to upgrade existing assets. The Department of Research & Development will ensure that the Empire is at the forefront of galactic progress.
Imperial Treasury
A government as large as the Galactic Empire would not survive without someone to manage and track the income levied from taxes. To meet this demand is the Imperial Treasury, comprised of an immense staff of accountants, tax collectors, and lawyers. The Imperial Treasurer monitors and handles all matters pertaining to the Empire's financial situation. The Treasury, chaired by the Minister of the Interior, is directly responsible for reporting to the Imperial Throne where necessary.
These audits and monitoring operations extend throughout the civilian sectors of Imperial space, as they work with the Imperial Security Bureau to help track financial crime and risk management to ensure criminal operations are stopped even before infancy. Additionally, the department lawyers extend beyond the facet of financial crime, also being responsible for civil and criminal litigation across the Empire, or operations at the behest of the Imperial Throne. While all military tribunals are handled from within the Imperial Military, these lawyers manage all civilian litigation, requiring the Treasurer to have a sound knowledge of both the fiscal and legal within Imperial space.
RAD-E
The Resource Allocation Division - Empire works as the main logistics department for the Galactic Empire. It is responsible for supporting all operations within the Empire, from the handling of recruit's branch assignments following graduation from the Imperial Academy, to providing front-line equipment support to the Empire's fighting forces. In short, RAD-E is the backbone of both the Ministry of Interior and the Empire as a whole, with everything from the largest of Imperial-I Class Star Destroyers to the smallest of personal armaments falling under the scope of RAD-E.
The department was originally organized on a branch-level scale, with each of the Imperial branches having a RAD officer. These would coordinate the needs of each branch in terms of personnel and equipment assignment, with the director or RAD-E allocating the needs of each of the branches as requested by their representative. This changed following the Year 22 reforms under Emperor Seele I, with the system swapping from a branch layout to a regional one, with each of the three regions, Emerald, Ruby, and Amber, managing its logistical work which greatly increased the efficiency and effectiveness of both RAD-E and the Empire. This elite array of staff are the asset managers of the Empire, directly coordinating with both military units and civilian components to work out staff and resource needs to enable them to meet their strategic function.
Imperial Nationalized Corporations
The major reforms of the Galactic Empire towards the end of the reign of Emperor Seele saw the amalgamation of the Ministry of Industry and its associated Nationalised Corporations into the Ministry of the Interior. These factions serve the needs of the Empire by producing the most technologically advanced products; supplying the fleets of the Imperial Navy, equipping the Imperial Army with their munitions, and providing the Regional Government with resources vital to the development of Imperial Worlds and their citizens. Without the nationalized factions, the well-oiled machine of the Galactic Empire would never be able to run. There are currently five nationalized factions under the banner of the Galactic Empire:
Binring Biomedical
At the forefront of cutting-edge technology, Binring Biomedical is dedicated to the development and manufacturing of state-of-the-art medical equipment and products. As the premier medical corporation of the Galactic Empire, it harmonizes a relentless pursuit of scientific excellence with a commitment to meeting the advanced medical requirements of the Empire and its inhabitants. Binring Biomedical's products are renowned for their reliability, precision, and adaptability to the unique challenges presented by the various species and environments within the Galactic Empire. In tandem with the Imperial Research and Development team, the corporation's research and development arm consists of some of the brightest Imperial minds, working tirelessly to push the boundaries of medical science. Binring Biomedical stands as a beacon of progress within the medical industry of the Galactic Empire, ensuring that the pursuit of health and well-being extends to every corner of the vast Imperial territories.
Corellian Engineering Corporation
Corellian Engineering Corporation's origins can be found leading back as far as 3,000 years before the formation of the Empire. Back in those times, CEC was a moderately small company based in the Corellian Sector, producing small ships for sentients throughout the galaxy as well as large capital-class ships for governments and even the Old Republic itself. As time carried on, CEC became larger and better known throughout the Galaxy. It soon grew to the point where, by the collapse of the Old Republic and the rise of the Empire, it was large enough to be recognized as a Galactic-scale company by the Galactic Corporation Assessment Board (GCAB). As technology advanced, however, starships became cheaper and cheaper, and as demand grew, many shipbuilders, including CEC, found themselves taxed to the breaking point of their productive capabilities. The growing waiting lists of the two companies soon ushered in a new chapter in the history of the Corellian Engineering Corporation.
The Kiner Corporation, founded by Albert Kiner, was another shipbuilding company that was not as well known as CEC, but was still a conglomerate of shipwrights very dedicated to their craft. Sentients from around the Galaxy, looking for ships, began swarming the galaxy’s many shipbuilders for their craft. Soon, both Kiner Corp and CEC found themselves with waiting lists that stretched for more than a year. Both firms found that they would be unable to keep up with demand and the competition at the same time. Thus, negotiations began between Kiner and CEC a few months before the Galactic New Year. Three short months later, Kiner Corp merged all of its assets, personnel and, most importantly, shipyards into CEC. The new, larger, CEC emerged on the 2nd day of the third year since the Galactic Empire was formed. However, the economic situation in the Corellian sector was suffering as a result of rebel activities in the sector. The leadership of CEC decided, after lengthy considerations, to move the corporation’s headquarters and main production area to Bothan Space. While this decision was disputed by many Corellians and some of the members of CEC, the decision was later regarded by CEC members as beneficial.
After the merger of the New Imperial Order with the Galactic Empire, Corellian Engineering Corporation once again became an official Galactic Empire nationalized group, where it continues to produce the many ships of the Imperial armada across its many production lines.
Imperial Droid Corporation
The Imperial Droid Corporation is unmatched in the production of droid models that provide outstanding service to the masses in civilian and military sectors. Whether it be in healthcare, defense, entertainment, or trade, there is a droid made for every purpose in these industries. The top-of-the-line astromech models such as the R3 and R5 series are fitted with state-of-the-art hardware and the latest software protocols enhancing their performance and versatility in maintenance duties, ship navigation assistance, database management, and a plethora more they have to offer. The Imperial Droid Corporation's unmanned technologies extend to defense and security. Despite its name, the Destroyer Droids are pressed into service in Imperial Union peacekeeping missions and for the protection of benign industrial interests throughout the galaxy.
With support from the Galactic Empire, droid innovation and advances in autonomous technologies ensure droids can operate reliably and succeed in harsh and rigorous conditions whilst also maximizing performance and ensuring the operational effectiveness each droid is purpose-built for. The Imperial Droid Corporation remains true to its word in offering the galaxy the greatest of specifications in security detail and the highest standards in labor industries through the manufacture of the most advanced droids in the galactic market.
Imperial Mining Corporation
As the major raw material supplier to the Galactic Empire, and its Ministry of Industry, the Imperial Mining Company prospects, mines and provides the materials used in every facet of daily life for an Imperial Citizen. Its operations are overseen by a visionary Executive Director, with a passion for each geode and mineral deposit across the galaxy, the Imperial Mining Company sees itself as the foundation on which the whole of the Galactic Empire is built. The Imperial Mining Company prides itself on efficiently supplying materials for the needs of the Galactic Empire, its subsidiaries, and its citizens.
Originally founded under the moniker of Cloud City Mining, it was once a minor and obscure provider of Tibanna Gas in the backwater of the galaxy until the Empire purchased the company from a consortium plagued by mismanagement. Its operations were soon transferred to Bothan Space, where the company, rechristened as Bothawui Mining provided new techniques to gather raw materials from the ground that allowed the sector to grow exponentially. Slowly their operations grew from a small Tibanna operation to one of increased efficiency where the Kiner Corporation sought to take over their operations. Seeing an opportunity to consolidate operations with the Corellian Engineering Corporation, KinerCorp purchased the company and renamed it Bothan Blasting Corporation under the leadership of former Imperial Moff, Charles Slayden. The operation then began to branch out into other material resourcing and mining, eventually officially becoming known as Imperial Resource Extractions. This name remained until the Imperial Throne sought to consolidate the nationalized company structures, renaming to the now-known, Imperial Mining Corporation.
Imperial Munitions
Operating on a mission-driven principle that continually evolves to meet the future challenges of the galaxy, Imperial Munitions strives to both design and produce products that are recognized in quality material, pristine design, and premier reliability. Imperial Munition's corporate philosophy and core values are centered around the fundamental obligation of upholding the vision of a safe and secure galaxy. With support from the Galactic Empire, innovative ideas are brought into existence through technological breakthroughs and advancements from within the small arms industry of the galaxy.
As the leading designer and defense manufacturer of small arms, light weaponry, and support equipment to the peacekeeping forces of the Imperial Union galaxy-wide, Imperial Munitions prides itself on exceeding expectations with every product. The products of Imperial Munitions can be seen in use all across the Emerald, Ruby, and Amber regions of Imperial space by military officers and soldiers on the front lines. Whether it's the immensely reliable E-11 Blaster Rifle, the famous Nightstinger, or the pride and joy, the Imperial Munitions 22T4, each weapon is produced with the same rigorous testing and development to ensure the Imperial forces are equipped with the best, state-of-the-art weaponry present across the galaxy.
Ministers of Interior
Throughout its formation, the Minister of Interior has had numerous individuals fulfill the role, occupying the chair for an extended period before being called into roles such as the Chairman of the Moff Council, Grand Vizier of COMPNOR, or answering the call of the Sith Council to name a few.
