Introduction
|
Growing up on the core world of Chandrilla, Max Corrino had a very pleasant childhood. His family owned a small agricultural estate on the outskirts of the capitol city where they farmed many different planets and animals. From a very early age Max had to help out on the farm by feeding the animals and turning them out in the vast pastures. He also made sure that they were all healthy and fit whilst they were out grazing. These jobs gave Max a knowledge of responsibilities and taking responsibility for not doing something that you were meant to do from a very young age. From a very young age Max had admired the Galactic Empire. Once a year he would go into the city to watch the Empire Day parade, an event held to celebrate the successes and achievements that had been accomplished. The parades would consist of drill routines and demonstrations from the Imperial Army, a flyby from the Imperial navy starfighter corp, and an address made by the planet's governor. Max's favourite part of the parade was the flyby from the Imperial Navy. The swift and precise movements made from the TIE fighters left him mesmerised, as did the unnatural shriek that followed behind them. This is what drove his passion to join the Galactic Empire and the Imperial Navy.
Education
|
The schooling services on Chandrilla were impeccable. From the age of five, up until sixteen, all children had to attend school. Whilst the curriculum was not as militaristic or hierarchical as the Imperial Academies, there was defiantly some aspects that were similar in the two. The main focus of the schools was academic studies, mainly Galactic basic, mathematics, science and history. However, other subjects that were also seen as important were taught as well, for example foreign languages, geography and art.
The majority of these subjects would prove vital to Max's future career in the Imperial Navy, because lots of the skills and knowledge that he gained would prove to be useful in both the Imperial Academy and the Imperial Navy.
Although very dedicated to his academic studies, Max also enjoyed the social and physical sides to school life. Lots of sports were available to be played in the vast fields of Chandrilla, but Max's favourites were boloball and orbak polo. He played boloball at school with all of his friends, but played polo on his farm. Through these sports, Max made lots of friends, some of which also went off to join the Empire, but many of them joined as enlisted men instead of as an officer like Max. This was partly down to his hard work and good grades in school, but he also had a good sense of leadership in him, which is one of the qualities of a good officer.
Imperial Academy
On his eighteenth birthday, Max signed up to the Imperial Navy Officer school to try and fulfil his dream of becoming a pilot. He was accepted and sent off to train immediately at the prestigious Prakith Imperial Academy. Under the watchful eye of his training officer, Commodore Robert Gauge , Max studied long and hard in all of his subjects. From diplomacy lessons to the firing range, he gave everything his best shot and made the most of every opportunity presented to him. After months of lessons, lectures and practical challenges, Max sat his final exams along with the other men and women who shared his dream of joining the ranks of the Imperial machine as an officer. With an overall score of 92.46%, Max graduated from the academy and joined the ranks of the Imperial Navy as an Ensign in year 20 day 06, marking the beginning of a very rewarding and prosperous career.
First Assignment
After his graduation of the Imperial Academy, Max Corrino received his first posting with the ███ Group in the ███ Fleet, under the command of ████████ and ████████. His first operation was a series of NIE patrols within his assigned region. Whilst a rather menial and somewhat boring task to be conducting, and a very big change from the fast paced, varied lifestyle of the Imperial academy, ensign Corrino took every chance he had to learn from the senior officers around him and serve the Empire to the best of his ability. After this operation, Max Corrino was given his first command, serving as the captain of the Carrack/S-class cruiser ████████. During his time on the ████████ Max conducted many missions and operations, and overtime the ship grew on him, eventually becoming his favourite vessel to ever serve on.
A second path
With his naval career setting off to a great start, Max Corrino sought out more roles and responsibilities. He applied for many different part time jobs, but was rejected by all, until year 20 day 106 when he was accepted into the Imperial Scenario Moderating Committee (ISMC) as a moderator. A few months later he would go on to be granted the role of Deputy Director of ISMC and the Imperial Gaming Commission (IGC), and he was also accepted into the Imperial Centre of Recruitment and the Imperial Academy as a recruitment and training officer (although Max’s tenure at the academy was cut short due to time constraints).
Max’s various part time jobs had given him a lot of opportunities that he did not expect to be trusted with at his level within the Empire. His best experience was the planning of the Imperial Ball of year 20. As an ISMC moderator, Max was tasked with planning the Imperial Ball which would commemorate the 13th anniversary since the formation of the Imperial Union. The ball was successful and went down with no problems, and so Max had helped to build up his reputation within the Galactic Empire at a fairly early stage. From his work on the planning and execution, Max was given the Deputy Directors position within ISMC, a significant step in his career progression, although he could not have done any of it without the help from Lirri Elysar and Patrick Mueirech, who both provided Max with advice and support with the ball.
|
Max’s work on the Imperial ball gained the attention of Lord Admiral Kef Drenall, the commanding officer of the Imperial Navy who already had experience working with Max whilst they revised the Imperial Navy handbook. This attention was key to the recognition that Max received after the ball had concluded, when he was awarded with the Good Conduct Award and the Achievement medal, and later went on to be designated as Imperial of the Month after being nominated by both the COMPNOR and the Navy.
The attention from Lord Admiral Drenall ended up reaching the very top of the Empire. Emperor Seele had heard of the hard work and dedication that Max showed in his Imperial duties, and on year 21, day 17 he promoted Max to Commander. This was the highest honour of Max’s career, and made him realise just how much the Empire appreciated the work of their officers. It was on this day that Max decided he would give all he could to help the Empire achieve its goals and preserve the new order to the best of his ability.
