Early Life
Darin Byrch was born Tad Logata on the planet Champala to his mother, Sahiri Logata, and an unknown father. Champala, one of the more financially stable worlds in the Inner Rim, provided the Logata family with a relatively comfortable life. From a young age, Tad exhibited a latent connection to the Force, a discovery that coincided with a life-altering revelation from his mother: his father was Sdar Marsa, a Chagrian and former Jedi who had deserted the Order before the end of the Clone Wars.
Sdar had abandoned Sahiri while she was still pregnant, disappearing without a trace before Tad’s birth. Determined to uncover the truth about his father, Tad made it his mission upon reaching adulthood to find him. His search led him to the sprawling underworld of Nar Shaddaa, where he discovered Sdar living in squalor among the slums. Once a Jedi, Sdar had fallen into ruin, enslaved by addiction to spice and reduced to working as muscle for a low-level crime lord.
Faced with the broken man his father had become, Tad ended Sdar’s life—an act he justifies as one of mercy, sparing him from further suffering. To avoid detection by enemies or associates of his father during his time on Nar Shaddaa, Tad procured a forged identity from a credential forger. The new identity, Darin Byrch, bore no resemblance to his Chagrian heritage, marking the beginning of a new life and the erasure of his past.
Education
Chagrians are known for their strong emphasis on education and intellectual development, a value that deeply influenced Darin’s upbringing. From an early age, he was rigorously educated and left his homeworld fluent in several languages, with a particular aptitude for diplomacy and negotiation. Darin firmly believes that knowledge is the foundation of true power, and this conviction drives his continual pursuit of learning. His intellectual interests are broad, encompassing philosophy and galactic history, both of which he studies with great passion and discipline.
Prior to Imperial Service
While on Nar Shaddaa, the newly named Darin Byrch was discovered by an influential member of the Black Sun criminal syndicate and subsequently recruited into their ranks. He served within Black Sun for several years, honing his skills and expanding his network, before ultimately departing the organization. Following this, Darin joined another clandestine group, but his tenure was cut short by a significant disagreement with its leader during the tumultuous period of the Hosnian War.
In the aftermath, Darin founded the Bando Gora, a secretive Force cult that would later controversially claim the Sith mantle. However, in Year 21, his leadership was violently challenged when his second-in-command betrayed him in an attempted assassination. Though Darin survived the attack, the betrayal forced him to disband the Bando Gora.
Following this dark turning point, Darin journeyed to Corellia, where he encountered the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Taral. This meeting marked the beginning of his service to the Galactic Empire and his ascent within the Sith Order.
Imperial Service
Ministry of Industry
After joining the Galactic Empire, Darin reported to the Imperial Academy on Prakith, where he distinguished himself by graduating with honors. Following his successful completion of the Academy, he was assigned to the Imperial Mining Corporation (IMC), a key component of the Ministry of Industry. During his tenure with the IMC, Darin played a vital role in maintaining and overseeing critical mining operations essential to the Empire’s resource infrastructure.
After two years of dedicated service within the IMC’s nationalized operations, Darin submitted a formal request for transfer to the Regional Government branch of the Ministry. His request was approved, and he was granted the transfer, marking a new phase in his career within the Imperial bureaucracy.

Regional Government
Darin’s transition to the Regional Government was executed with remarkable efficiency—a testament not only to his bureaucratic acumen but also to the quietly growing influence he had cultivated during his time in the Ministry of Industry. His tenure with the Imperial Mining Corporation had earned him a reputation as a meticulous strategist and a dependable executor of the Empire’s logistical needs. These qualities, combined with a deep understanding of interstellar resource networks, made him a valuable asset for the Empire’s broader administrative machinery.
Upon acceptance of his transfer, Darin was assigned to [REDACTED] region, a classified post within the Regional Government branch. Though official records remain heavily redacted, fragments of declassified intelligence and anecdotal reports suggest that his appointment was part of a targeted initiative to reassert Imperial dominance in a politically unstable region. The region in question had long struggled with fragmented loyalties, economic stagnation, and whispers of insurgent activity—issues that required a firm, calculating presence to resolve. Darin was chosen not only for his operational skillset but for his ability to navigate the complexities of Imperial law, local governance, and covert enforcement.
In this shadowed capacity, Darin was responsible for orchestrating a series of sweeping reforms designed to centralize authority, eliminate dissent, and accelerate development across the sector’s fractured territories. These efforts included the reorganization of planetary resource quotas, the imposition of strict supply chain audits, and the integration of local administrative bodies into the greater structure of the Empire’s Regional Government. Though operating largely behind the scenes, Darin’s hand could be felt in every tightening protocol, every redirected convoy, and every governor who suddenly fell into perfect alignment with Imperial directives.
While the exact nature of his work in [REDACTED] remains classified, those within the upper echelons of the Imperial command structure have quietly acknowledged the long-term impact of his presence. His efforts helped stabilize volatile star systems, suppress rebellious elements, and restore economic flow to key trade routes—all without attracting undue public scrutiny. The assignment also placed Darin in contact with a number of influential figures, both within the civilian bureaucracy and the more esoteric circles of the Sith Order, marking a crucial turning point in his dual ascent.
The experience honed not only his capabilities in diplomacy and resource management, but also deepened his familiarity with intelligence operations, psychological warfare, and the art of political pressure. It is widely believed—though never officially confirmed—that it was during this period that Darin’s alignment with the Sith began to quietly intensify. His efficiency, discretion, and ideological clarity did not go unnoticed by Sith agents embedded within the Regional Government, and in time, the name Darin Byrch began circulating in whispers not just among administrators, but among acolytes and Lords alike.

The Order of the Sith
In Year 23, following years of service to the Galactic Empire and a personal journey marked by both ideological evolution and ruthless pragmatism, Darin Byrch was formally inducted into the Sith Order. His demonstrated discipline, command of the Force, and unshakable belief in the supremacy of order and power made him a natural candidate for ascension. It was not merely his capabilities that drew the attention of the Dark Lords, but his clarity of purpose—an unwavering commitment to shaping the galaxy through control, vision, and conviction.
Darin was welcomed into the Saarai Enclave, the most secretive and ideologically rigid of the three major Sith sects within the Empire. The Enclave, whose name translates from the ancient Sith tongue as "Truth," is known for its fanatical dedication to the unfiltered and absolute Dark Side. Members of the Saarai Enclave regard the Sith Code not as a suggestion, but as immutable law. Within this crucible of intensity and tradition, Darin found not only belonging but purpose.
It was within the Saarai Enclave that Darin shed the final remnants of his former identity. He embraced a new name—Darth Emersus—symbolizing death, rebirth, and enlightenment through suffering. As Emersus, he fully committed himself to the path of the Sith, delving deeper into the mysteries of the Force, Sith alchemy, and the ancient teachings preserved by the enclave's scholars and zealots. His transformation was not merely symbolic; it was spiritual, psychological, and philosophical.
In time, his mastery of Sith doctrine and his unwavering loyalty to the Enclave earned him the prestigious and feared rank of Sith Councilor. As a member of the Sith Council, Darth Emersus now holds influence over the future of the Order and plays a key role in shaping the ideological direction of the Saarai Enclave. His words carry weight, his decisions alter destinies, and his presence demands respect—or fear.
To those outside the Enclave, Darth Emersus remains a figure shrouded in calculated mystery. To those within, he is a living embodiment of the Sith ideal: patient, relentless, and driven by the belief that through control, knowledge, and sacrifice, true power is not only achievable—it is inevitable.
