The 6th Imperial Fleet, comprised of the 6th Group, is assigned to the Corporate Oversector located in the Outer Rim. The fleet serves as the backbone of the Empire's defenses of its far-flung sector. The current wing deployments of the 6th Imperial Fleet include the 671st and 672nd Wings.

The Imperial Eagles
The 6th Group was formed on Year 8 Day 276, as the 6th Imperial Fleet. After the merger of the Galactic Empire and the New Imperial Order, they were assigned to Corporate Sector where they served as the backbone of the Empire's defenses of its far flung Oversector.
Tasked with protecting the Imperial Worlds of the Corporate Oversector, the 6th Group is an Assault Group within the 6th Imperial Fleet with the potential to bring enough firepower to a fight that can outgun most fleets in the galaxy.
Called “The Imperial Eagles”, the 6th Group follow their motto to the letter. Order through strength of arms! This Group is composed of some of the most fearless men and women serving the Galactic Empire.
The group most recent achievements are the destruction of a large pirate cruiser in Dromund system that was trying to prey on local space traffic, as well as the discovery of a smuggler outpost in Athiss system, later destroyed with an heavy orbital bombardment.

The 7th Group is the Reconnaissance unit within the 6th Imperial Fleet and its mandate is to provide ahead information on enemy action and patrol the Corporate Oversector to maintain imperial supremacy and protect all Imperials that roam this corner of the galaxy.
It is known as “The Widowmakers”, named after their long-serving flagship, the VSD Widowmaker. Such a group was commanded by some of the most respected Officers the Imperial Navy has ever seen, like former ‘Admiral’ Markus Saretti.
The group's biggest achievement was the destruction of several pirate corvettes in the Nicht Ka system and the humanitarian rescue mission of Lothretom Outpost on Kalsunor after a terrible lava flood.

Formed briefly, Years 12 - 13, to serve as the Heavy Assault Group of the 6th Fleet, it engaged in a number of training exercises and helped secure the Fleet’s area of operation. It was later deactivated and its officers re-assigned to the rest of the Fleet to increase efficiency.
History
Commodore Adam Diggins was the first commanding officer of the 6th Imperial Fleet. During his command, the 6IF was a special operations fleet comprised of a few elite pilots who had served with Diggins in the 3rd Imperial Fleet. Many of their activities were kept confidential, but the 6IF is known to have participated in the construction of the planet Adkinien. When Commodore Diggins retired from active service, Vice Admiral Ramos Rob was appointed as his successor on Year 8 Day 311. Vice Admiral Rob oversaw Operation Burning Heart, a large campaign that took place in Republica, before being appointed as the Navy Executive Officer. Long-serving 6IF executive officer, Commander Katar Trilac, was then promoted to commanding officer. Before too long Commander Trilac was forced to enter the Reserves, and Commodore Hack Skice stepped up to take the position of commanding officer of the 6IF. Under his command, the fleet conducted several operations in Kuat and the fleet temporarily moved their base to Carida. After the reunification of the Galactic Empire and the New Imperial Order, which integrated NIO personnel into the fleets, many pilots of the 6IF were transferred to other units. The 6th Imperial Fleet was then assigned to the Corporate Oversector, and its base was moved accordingly.

Y16 D137 - D148 Operation Abyss
A training exercise run by 6th Group, simulating a Group-size taskforce countering a smaller but more mobile Rebel force operating from a fixed base. Leadership experience was given to group members, and the Group was able to respond rapidly to a changing situation, dividing into small groups or reforming to concentrate fire against threats as needed.
