The Galactic News Service (or GNS) is a Galaxy-wide news system that provides information to all sentients about certain events around the Galaxy. The GNS can be viewed on holonets, datapads and public news screens across the Galaxy. From Year 12 Day 120 the GNS became controlled by the Galactic Empire. Although that means the Empire can choose what is and what isn't broadcast, others can attempt to "hack" into the system.
There are two parts to the GNS, the Main GNS Broadcast and the Flashnews.

[hide]GNS Broadcast
These are text reports or main video broadcasts made by news services and other faction groups whom have the appropriate privileges and technology to access the GNS. For the Galactic Empire broadcasts are made by the Imperial Information Service.
Flashnews
These are short bullet-point events that appear on the bottom of the GNS. Flashnews events will fall into the categories of:
- Planet Control changes
- Faction leadership changes
- New faction officially created.
- Faction dissolved
